Remembering Morgan on her birthday

May 14th has been a day that we have celebrated in our family for the past 20 years and this year was no exception.

We drove to the Ross Creek Cedars and the weather was gorgeous. I was teary on the last mile or so of the drive, because the last time we were there was in the fall, just before Morgan left for college in Havre. We listened to her Jack Johnson CD all the way there on that trip. Most of her "alternative" music was not to our liking and she had absolutely no appreciation for the fine talent of today's country music artists. But Jack Johnson we agreed was pretty great, along with Michael Buble` and one of her other favorites, Dean Martin. She truly loved being her own person and having her own style, whether it was music, clothes or anything!
We had our picnic lunch, we took our time meandering along the trail among the magnificient cedars and then when we gathered back at the clearing where our vehicles were parked, we wished Morgan "Happy Birthday" and released the bright yellow balloons. It was a beautiful day.
